Hola, everybody. Hope everyone’s doing well on this fine evening. Tonight I wanted to post about something that’s near and dear to my heart, and that’s taking care of your skin.

This photo represents my love affair with skincare. Yup, it's THAT intense.

  • Review: Skin79 Super+ Beblesh Balm BB Cream – VIP Gold Collection

    Apr 15th 2012

For all my other makeup-obsessed followers out there, this review will probably get you pretty excited. If you’re always looking for the next best thing (like I am), you’ve no doubt heard of BB creams, the latest cosmetic sensation to come out of Asia. BB creams are a combination of a few different things, and each brand is individual, but most often it’s a blend of sunscreen, tinted moisturizer/foundation, primer, and moisturizer all in one. Many also claim to lighten skin and even skintone. Basically, it’s a major WIN.

So I hopped on the bandwagon and went online and bought myself a little bottle of what’s one of the most popular brands of BB cream, Skin79 Super+ Beblesh Balm BB Cream. Now, this comes in a couple different varieties, but I bought the VIP Gold Collection one. More on that after the jump.

  • Review: Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette

    Feb 13th 2012

Long time, no post! Sorry for being MIA guys. I moved rather unexpectedly last October and unfortunately I let this fall by the wayside. Nevermind that though, I’m back and better than ever.

Tonight I thought I’d talk about the next next NEXT product on everyone’s lips (because there’s always something bigger and better looming on the horizon, isn’t there)… the Naked 2 palette by Urban Decay. Fortunately I picked one of these up rather randomly in an Ulta the other night. That’s how I got my original Naked palette too, I just kind of stumbled upon it. Pretty lucky considering how hard they are to find.

A little background before we head into the jump: Naked 2 addresses the main problem people had with the original Naked, which is that it was too geared toward warmer skintones. I can definitely see that. For me personally, various shades of gold just get hard to rock after a while. So thus was born Naked 2, for those of us who have been living in underground caves all our lives with those see-through bugs and as-yet-undiscovered species of bats. Or, alternatively, you were just born super pale like me.

Behold. Also, excuse my raggedy thumb.

    And so it begins.

Let’s talk about a super hot product on the market right now… and it has been for a while. That’s, of course, the Urban Decay Naked Palette. Twelve shadows of highly-pigmented goodness that we all clearly have trouble living without.

Definitely more warm-toned but still suitable for us cooler girls.

  • Vanessa’s wedding!

    Sep 18th 2011

Hi guys! Yesterday I headed out to Vanessa’s house to do her wedding makeup as well as her mother and grandmother’s. What a blast! I took some pictures and I’ll be adding them to the gallery soon. In the meantime, here’s a tiny teaser!

We did a slightly shimmery purple since her eyes were such a rich dark brown. Plus, her bridesmaids dresses were purple so it would mirror them nicely! We did false lashes too which looked absolutely amazing on her.

I’ll post more soon! Remember the deadline is coming up for $15 off each person in your wedding party! :)

  • Primer Crash Course / Review: MAC Prep + Prime Skin

Some of the questions I get asked most frequently are:

    1. “What is primer?”
    2. “What does primer even do?”
    3. “Do I need primer?”
    4. “I can’t see the difference when I use primer.”

…okay, so the last one isn’t really a question, but you see where I’m going with this. It’s all about primer, primer, PRIMER! There is a lot of confusion here so I want to help clear some of it up.

Over the past several days I’ve added some new pics to the gallery. Go check them out!

On Wednesday we had Kathleen, who was super-fun to work with. I love the way the winged eye-liner turned out on her, it really emphasized her beautiful, almond eye shape. Now that’s going-out makeup!

And yesterday I got to meet Laura! We had a quick teaching session, going over application tips and what products work and what don’t. In the end, we sort of did a “makeover” and the pictures in the gallery are the result of that. She wanted what pretty much all girls want – to look like herself but better when wearing makeup. We intensified the eyes just a little bit, all the while keeping the look natural. I think we accomplished that pretty well! :-D

    Talk to you all soon…
